Grin Lens is made of special glass materialwhich make use of the continuous changed by radial of the refractive index, theworking theory may be explained: An incoming light ray is first refracted alongthe high refractive index side, the refractive index of the lens center ishighest, and refractive index (n) continuatively changed low with radial distanceof lens. The light path will transfer as Sin. Curve when the light through theGrin Lens.(see Fig.1).
Grin Lens is an optical lens which use foroptics collimation, optics focus and optical image transmission etc for thiskind of characteristic. The application of Grin Lens’ is the same asconventional lens, performance of the lens depends on a continuous change ofthe refractive index within the lens material, The simple geometry allows us avery cost-effective production and simplifies the assembly of productessentially, just polish the two end surface and control the length, instead ofcomplicated shaped surfaces plane optical surfaces are used for the conventionallens (see, Fig2 and Fig 3.)
Since limited for the special assembly and
working theory, the diameter of conventional lens is not very small, for
example: less than
